Residents nab two suspects allegedly stealing crops from farms for 5 years in Gombe
Two suspected serial thieves have been caught for allegedly stealing farm produce in Gombe State.
Facebook user, Marvelous Yunana, who disclosed this in a post on Saturday, September 30, 2023, alleged that the suspects have been stealing crops from farms in Boh and Kalisen villages in Kaltungo Local Government Areas of the state for over five years.
“99 days for a thief 1day for the owner. These are the stubborn thieves that were terrorizing Boh/Kalisen farm areas, stealing people's crops for over five years. They were caught today at 2am,” he wrote.
Meanwhile, it was gathered that due to rising theft of crops, farmers in Gombe state now sleep on their farms to keep vigil while others pay between N30,000 and N50,000 monthly to vigilantes to safeguard their farms as they prepare for harvest.
