Informal Sector Key to Unbundling Nigerian, African Economies — CORBON


The Council of Registered Builders of Nigeria (CORBON) highlighted the informal sector’s potential to drive economic growth in Nigeria and Africa. CORBON Chairman, Engr. Sam Opaluwah, emphasized that this sector, accounting for over 70% of GDP in some African nations, remains largely unorganized and underrecognized. 
He noted that despite its significant contribution to employment and economic output, the informal sector is often overlooked, a consequence of colonial legacies.
