UN Praises Nigeria’s Treatment of Refugees


The UNHCR has commended Nigeria for its exemplary treatment of refugees, particularly those from Cameroon. During a visit to Vice President Kashim Shettima, the UNHCR delegation, led by Assistant High Commissioner Raouf Mazou, praised Nigeria’s efforts and announced plans to support host communities through a World Bank facility. 
The UN aims to shift from humanitarian aid to development, promoting self-reliance among refugees. Nigeria reaffirmed its commitment to aiding displaced persons and collaborating with international partners.
